Our platform was transformed into a wilderness adventureland this weekend.  This is our Vacation Bible School week at Living Streams, and with an outdoor theme rockin’ our sanctuary, the worship band was nestled into a small forrest with tents and camping gear all around.  We fought the temptation to sing camp songs…and then we worshiped our indescribable creator!
Saturday, David Stockton spoke from the book of Job, and how God is moved when His people have faith. Â In talking about prayer, I loved how David put this: “When we pray for healing, God will either heal us, or give us the help that we need.” Â Earlier this week, Pastor Mark had made a comment in a discussion about prayer and healing, he said that when we pray we need to remember that “healing is not hanging by a thread.” Â There have been times in my life that I’ve prayed for God to move, and when He hasn’t moved like I wanted, I’ve been prone to question if I prayed “hard enough” or if my faith was lacking. Â Job was definitely a man who had great faith and things didn’t go like he wanted, but he continued to trust in the power of a loving God.
Sunday, Mark Buckley spoke from the book of 1 Peter. Â He talked about how God wants us to love one another deeply. Â In spite of the challenges and vulnerabilities of loving people deeply, God will bless our lives for loving people like He does.
