May 23-24 Weekend Recap

Arlington…and Summer begins….  Memorial Day has always been the weekend where Summer starts in my mind.  Growing up the child of a school teacher, my mental calendar followed the traditional school year schedule.  Summer was June, July and August; Fall was September, October, November and most of December; Winter began at the Christmas break until my birthday in mid-February; then Spring was the rest of February, March, April and May.  Well, it made sense to me then.

As part of our services this weekend, we showed a Memorial Day video.  This was a great reminder to be thankful for the huge sacrifice many people have made for our nation and our freedom.  Although I don’t come from a military family, I am very proud to be an American and deeply value the men and women who have served, and who serve in our military today.

Our Executive Pastor, Lance Rauhoff spoke this weekend.  His message was titled “Lifestyles of the Stressed and Blessed.”  Lance reminded us that no matter what our circumstances, God has given us the Holy Spirit to guide us, empower us and comfort us.  You’ll be able to download and listen to his podcast later this week on the Living Streams website.  Lance also showed a moving video about Gainesville State School in Texas that you might want to watch.  A great story about loving on people with God’s unconditional and undeserving love.

Here is the set from the services this weekend:

Let It Rise – E
Everlasting God – B
My Lord Jesus – B
(Andy Allen original, recording not yet available)
Revelation Song – D
Save Me – E

I’m praying that you will have a great holiday, and that God will fill your life with the power of His Holy Spirit!

Andy
