I got a text at 7:50 Thursday morning asking if I was available to lead worship Sunday. This actually happens more than you might think and it’s one aspect of my ministry that I’ve loved over the years. Simply being available has been a big part of the work I’ve been able to do.

This week, the Sr. Pastor’s father fell gravely ill and he needed to go be with his family. We retooled the entire service Thursday so that I could rehearse the band that evening. Everyone on the team was incredibly gracious as I changed out all but one song…and I didn’t finish charting one of the tunes until 30 minutes before rehearsal.

As crazy and short term as all the preparations were, this turned out to be one of the top 5 worship sets and services I’ve ever been a part of. There was a very tangible sense of God’s presence in each service. The band seriously rocked all the songs and the message was solid. I walked away thankful that I got to be a part of what happened there.

Here is the set list:

Reaching For You | Lincoln Brewster
Marvelous Light | Christy Nockels
Always | One Sonic Society
Beautiful Things | Gungor
Our Great God | Casey Darnell

How were your weekend services?
