Gotta say that we had an incredible weekend at The Rock Church in Palm Desert, CA this weekend. If there’s one thing that really defines the heart of this church it is the way they serve the poor in their community.
The church tagline is “Loving People To Life.” They put legs to this mantra as they run a food program to the poor and marginalized within their reach. It was exciting to tour their facility and hear about the way the people of this church reach out with the love of Christ.
I got to lead worship for both of their Sunday morning services. Pam and I played with their team and it was incredibly encouraging to worship with a congregation eager to connect with God.
We also got to share about World Vision and vulnerable children around the world suffering from extreme poverty and HIV/AIDS. 7 kids got sponsored…that’s the stuff that matters to us!

I love seeing a church that lives out James 1:27…“Pure and lasting religion in the sight of God our Father is this, caring for orphans and widows in their distress…”
